You've heard the old saying that good fences make good neighbors, well I'd like to add that obedience training for dogs makes great neighbors. Especially when it includes teaching the dog not to bark. It's amazing to me how many dog owners believe in the rights of the animal to create noise above the rights of their neighbor to enjoy peace and solitude. Obviously, there are many wonderful dog owners that take great care of their pet and ensure that it isn't bothering their neighbor. They are great neighbors! But have you had one's like we've had in the past ... I lived in a house where 2 dogs woke me up nearly every morning between 3-4 am. And when I asked for a little consideration I was confronted as a dog-hater. It was as if I was waking up the dogs instead of the other way around. God forbid I want to sleep! Here's what my point is ... People have different tolerance levels for noise pollution. Be sensitive to your neighbors when they let you know that your pet is disturbing them. Or better yet ... Stop the problem before it starts. Train your dog not to bark. It can be done ... visit www.barkbusters.com to find out how. Or give Karen Montalvo a call in the Nashville area at: 1-877-280-7100
